As a PhD student in Japan immersed in high-tech research and fast-paced routines, I found unexpected stillness in traditional tea ceremony. It slowed me down—inviting pause, reflection, and a deep appreciation for the present moment. That contrast between velocity and ritual became the seed for KOHANA: a teaware brand where AI-powered creativity meets ancestral tradition. Each piece is a tribute to that intersection—crafted not just to function, but to invite stillness, story, and sensory experience. Built with modern tools, from code to clay, KOHANA honors the past while shaping the future of mindful design.
How AI Helped Develop this Brand
It all started with prompts. Using AI and exploring dozens of visual directions—sculptural curves, fluid silhouettes, and functional elegance.
We identified the Xenomorph design style that felt both modern and organic. Sculptural, ergonomic, and emotive.
Translating AI vision into a 3D experience required careful adaptation. We considered grip, weight, and flow.
